Aquinas College will have a new executive vice president and provost in May. Dr. Gilda Gely held a similar position at Grand Rapids Community College for the past seven years.
Grand Rapids Choir of Men and Boys sing music for Lent, Holy Week under noted British conductor

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The season of Lent in the Christian church is a time of preparation for the celebration of Easter.
…The organization founded in 1989 operates a music education program for boys in grades 3 through 8, following the Royal School of Church Music training program at hits rehearsal home at Grand Rapids Community College.

Daily computer lab “open houses” have been set up for faculty, staff & students to stop by and take the Campus Climate Survey. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and address any concerns participants may have, or to simply provide more information about the purpose of the survey.

Workforce Training and Graphics Department wins prestigious awards of excellence from NCMPR
GRCC Workforce Training and Graphics Department wins prestigious awards of excellence from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR).
Elly Bainbridge attended the NCMPR awards last week where she and GRCC swept the entire Brochure Division A category winning a Gold for”Get In. Get to Work”, Silver for “Wind energy brochure” and Bronze for the SWD Advisory Committee Brochure, and a Gold in Flier Series – division A for our non-credit health care series.
A special thank you to Elly Bainbridge, Amanda Cook and Matt Coullard for all their work on these projects. We lead the country!
Tornado drills tomorrow
Campus Police and Facilities will be conducting tornado drills this Friday, March 28. The drills will be conducted during the morning and also during the afternoon (after 3 p.m.) in all buildings. We are mandated by the state to conduct two tornado drills a year in all buildings.

Honors Program Information Session
Faculty and Staff are encouraged to invite current GRCC Students to participate in the Honors Program. If your students are engaged learners looking for an exciting opportunity, please encourage them to participate.
Current GRCC students must have earned a 3.3 Cumulative GPA and earned 12 GRCC credits to apply.
We are hosting an Information Session on Monday, March 31 in Sneden 108 at 6:00 pm. Students may RSVP at our website; grcc.edu/honorsprogram. The session will include a program overview and an opportunity to speak with program staff and students.
Benefit for GRCC student in critical condition after car crash
Osman Koroma, a GRCC student, was hit by a car last Wednesday night. His faithful and loyal companion guide dog, Gala, was killed. Osman is in critical condition with a broken leg and serious head injuries.

Service for President Calkins to be held March 28
A celebration of life for former GRCC President Richard W. Calkins will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, March 28, in the ATC banquet rooms. The program will begin at 6:15 p.m. Guests may park in any GRCC student ramp, parking vouchers will be given out at the celebration for those who need them.
