Benefit dinner planned for man critically injured in crash that killed guide dog

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — As a Grand Rapids man remains hospitalized in critical condition after a crash that killed his guide dog, friends and family are coming to his aid with a fundraising benefit.
… He is studying at Grand Rapids Community College and works as an assistant camp director at Opportunities Unlimited for the Blind, a nonprofit group that runs camps for blind and visually impaired children.
Snow, cold leaves colleges scrambling to salvage spring sports seasons

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A nice dose of snow melt in recent days isn’t much consolation at this point to college spring sports, which have seen their seasons decimated by our lengthy, stubborn winter.
… Davenport officials said they have will have hosted 50 baseball games at Farmers Athletic Complex from March 11 to April 6. That includes outside games involving Calvin, Grand Valley State, Ferris State, Grand Rapids Community College, to name a few, and various high schools.
