PORTLAND — It didn’t take former Portland St. Patrick standout Collin Lay very long to realize the differences between high school and college baseball.
It became noticeable the first time Lay took the mound as a member of the Grand Rapids Community College baseball team.

Hope rewind: Flying Dutchmen golf wins at Quail Ridge

Holland, Mich. — The Hope men’s golf team took first at the five-team Furniture City Classic at Quail Ridge on Tuesday. Hope’s Ben Lanting led the way to finish first after shooting a 69. Evan Telzerow and Winton Munch finished tied for fourth with 75s.
The Flying Dutchmen shot 295 as a team. Grand Rapids Community College was second (302), Calvin College was third (317) and Aquinas (336) and Davenport (350) rounded out the field.
