Congratulations to the TRiO students, peer mentors and advisors who were awarded for their excellence on campus at the GRCC Student Leadership Awards on Friday, April 4.
Anna Maria Clark received the Jerry Benham Award. This award honors an employee who has demonstrated outstanding involvement in student activities on campus. Anna Maria is an advisor for the TRiO/Student Support Services program. The TRiO program serves students who are first generation and income eligible.
Todd Johnson won the Martin Luther King Jr. Award. TRiO students Sean Smith, London Nathan, and Todd Johnson were nominated. The purpose of this award is to honor exemplify the spirit of Martin Luther King through community involvement and campus life.
Yolanda Cruz-Olguin won the Benham Service and Civic Engagement Award. Yolanda is a peer mentor for the TRiO/SSS program. The purpose of this award is to honor a student who has been active, involved, and shown leadership in service and civic engagement initiatives.
Ashley Fox, another Peer Mentor for the TRiO/SSS program, was nominated for the Cedric and Sandy Ward Award. The purpose of this award is to honor a student that demonstrates outstanding leadership skills throughout the community or College
