Suppliers have the chance to meet with procurement professionals from the public sector — and win some prizes — during a “Meet the Buyer” event on May 15.
The Regional Alliance for Diversity in Public Purchasing has organized the symposium, which runs 8:30 a.m. to noon on May 15 in Grand Valley State University’s Loosemore Auditorium.
Alliance member GRCC will be among the buyers represented. Other buyers at the event include the cities of Grand Rapids and Kentwood, Kent County, the state of Michigan, Michigan State University, The Rapid, and the Van Andel Institute. Those attending also can visit resource tables from Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women, the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, the Minority Business Development Agency Business Center and others.
Sean Huddleston, GVSU’s assistant vice president for strategic implementation, will discuss “Breaking the Barriers; History, Purpose and Tips on Effective Diverse Small Business Development” at 9 a.m.
People interested in attending should register for the event by clicking here. An iPad Air, iPod Touch, and three months of coaching from Partners In Action will be given away during the symposium, and you must be present to win.
