As a part of GRCC’s centennial celebration, the Diversity Lecture Series is hosting former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, on September 22.
The Carters have a long commitment to humanitarianism, especially focusing on issues of discrimination and abuse suffered by girls and women around the world. President Carter’s most recent book, A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power, is an excellent primer on this troubling plight. On September 22, he will sign copies of the book and then speak on the topics addressed in it.
GRCC’s Student Life office will sell signed copies of the book, which includes a commemorative bookplate, to current students for $20. This price is available only to current GRCC students, and supplies are limited.
