FOUR MATCHES, THREE DAYS, TWO CITIES: UMD OPENS SEASON ON THE UPPER PENINSULA

Sept. 3, 2014; University of Minnesota-Duluth’s athletics department website

The University of Minnesota Duluth opens its 2014 campaign with four matches in three days at the Michigan Technical University Keewenaw Classic beginning with a match against a long-time rival receiving votes in the initial American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll.

… Also graduating was the team’s starting setter, and duties will fall on a new addition as the team adds a pair of freshmen and Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College junior transfer Stacy Kalsbeek.

Active shooter response training session added to schedule

If you have not had the opportunity to attend the Run.Hide.Fight (Active Shooter Response Training) presentation, one has been added to the schedule on Thu. October 30 from 10:30 AM – 12 PM in the ATC Auditorium (Room 168).

This training is required for all college staff and faculty.

The 90 minute training session will be presented by GRCC Police Chief Rebecca Whitman and Lieutenant Scott Merlo, and will describe what an active shooter is; detail the ‘Run Hide Fight’ response to an active shooter situation; explain ways to recognize and report potential threats to our campus, and answer any questions attendees may have.
