GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A chemical spill Thursday, Oct. 9, at Grand Rapids Community College’s Calkins Science Center has forced the evacuation of the center’s fifth floor.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 13, Pearl Street is scheduled to be closed from Ottawa to Ionia avenues so equipment can be lifted to buildings. The city is suggesting the following detours:
