Nursing students to help with suicide prevention event

Nursing students also helped with the Out of Darkness Walk.

On Saturday, November 22, at the ATC, six AD Nursing students will be assisting our community partners, West Michigan Survivors of Suicide, with our annual observance of the International Survivors of Suicide Day. This event is co-sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and donations from the Out of Darkness Walk held in September.

The focus this year is the prevention of youth suicide. Registration is requested, but there is no charge for attending the event. A light lunch will be provided.

Learn more about local efforts to prevent suicide from Christy Buck, the Executive Director of the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan. We will also hear from a panel of local survivors who have experienced this tragic loss.
