The Memorial Campus dedication in 1949.

Did you know that following World War II, GRJC students raised $15,000 for a Memorial Campus to be built at the south end of the Main Building on the site of a former parking lot? Now called the Arthur Andrews Memorial Campus, its purpose was to honor the 70 students who lost their lives in the war. A central flagpole with tall stone base contains those honored names.

Read about this and much more in Open Door, the newly published 100-year history of GRJC/GRCC written by retired English professor Walter Lockwood. The book can be purchased at Schuler Books, the GRCC Library, or online here.
