GRAND RAPIDS, MI — John “Jack” Boerema, a man who spent decades serving the greater Grand Rapids community, died Friday, April 3. He was 85.
… He attended both Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. Thereafter, he became a professor and administrator at Grand Rapids Junior College, now known as the city’s community college, for more than 25 years.

Calvin men’s golf in third place tie at Shootout at Stonehedge Tourney

GALESBURG – The Calvin men’s golf team had a solid opening day at the Shootout at Stonehedge Tournament.
The Knights fired a day one team score of 302 – good for a third place tie in a field of 14 teams. Northwestern College of Ohio leads the tournament at 294 with Grand Rapids Community College second at 293 and Calvin and St. Xavier (IL) right behind in a tie for third.
