The 8th ranked GRCC Raider Golf team won their own tournament Monday at Egypt Valley CC in cold, windy, and rain conditions. A total of 10 teams competed in the tournament and the Raiders shot a 313 to outdistance Muskegon CC by three shots. Kurt Sprague, a sophomore from Byron Center and Zach Bialik, a sophomore from Manistee Catholic Central, tied for Medalist honors with 74’s. Sprague defeated Bialik on the first sudden death playoff hole to win the individual award. The Raiders are next in action Friday at Bedford Valley competing in the first two rounds of the Western Conference Championship. The team is seven time defending champions of the conference tournament.
