Aquinas track & field impressive in outdoor debut

Hillsdale, MI — The men’s and women’s track & field teams traveled to Hillsdale College this past weekend to compete against Cornerstone, Davenport, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Northern Michigan and the host Chargers of Hillsdale.

… The dynamic duo in the hurdles continued to impress, as Tori DeSira (Dewitt/GRCC) and Erika Heston (Haslett/Haslett) both punched their tickets to Gulf Shores. DeSira placed second with a time of 14.05, while Heston clocked in at 14.53. DeSira’s time puts her at #2 on the All-Time list for the Saints. DeSira teamed up with Kaitlyn Henniger, Marissa Ingersoll and Adri Sigafoose to hit the “A” standard for the 4×400 meter relay. The quartet finished in 3:52.97 to achieve the third fastest time in school history. Sigafoose (McBain/Northern Michigan Christian) would also win the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:14.50 to hit the automatic qualifier for Nationals. Her time missed Cari Blind’s school record by just .20.

Baseball, softball teams on tear at Muskegon Community College

MUSKEGON, MI – The baseball and softball teams have been hot at Muskegon Community College.
In baseball, the Jayhawks swept four games over the weekend by taking both ends of doubleheaders against Henry Ford Community College and Lansing Community College.

In softball, it was even better as MCC swept four doubleheaders last week. The Jayhawks took two from Glen Oaks Community College, Lake Michigan College, Jackson Community College and Grand Rapids Community College.

Moms get motivated to be healthy
