Glen Oaks softball team drops weekend doubleheaders

CENTREVILLE — The Glen Oaks Community College women’s softball team dropped two doubleheaders over the weekend.
Tom Muckel’s Lady Vikings were swept at home on Saturday by Jackson Community College 10-4 in eight innings and 18-5 and dropped two games on Friday at Grand Rapids Community College 10-1 and 10-2.

Muskegon Community College recap: Kyle Lawson ups pitching record to 8-1

The sophomore right-hander for the Muskegon Community College baseball team raised his record to 8-1 on the season with last week’s 7-0 shutout against Grand Rapids Community College.

Volleyball adds two student-athletes for 2015

INDIANAPOLIS — Head Coach Jason Reed and the UIndy volleyball staff has added a pair of student-athletes for the upcoming season. Shelby Ruffner (Chesterton, Ind./Grand Rapids Community College) and Lauren Koopman (Floyds Knobs, Ind./Floyd Central) will be Greyhounds for the 2015 campaign.

IT explains laptop battery recall

IT Notification:

Lenovo has recently expanded their recall of batteries to include models Thinkpad T410, T420, and X220 which are currently utilized on campus. Batteries are being recalled due to overheating.

The IT department has investigated our affected systems and noted that most batteries are not included in this recall.

If you have one of the aforementioned systems and would like to see if your individual battery is included in the recall please visit: http://www.lenovo.com/batteryprogram2014

Instructions are provided within the webpage on how to request a replacement battery if yours has been recalled.

Golf team wins Western Conference Championship

For the seventh consecutive year, the 8th-ranked GRCC Raider golf team won the Western Conference Championship, outlasting second-place Muskegon CC by 33 strokes after the four rounds of competition. The Raiders shot rounds of 292/292/301/296.  Zach Bialik, from Manistee Catholic Central, came back from five strokes on the last round to win Medalists honors by one stroke.  Also making All-Conference honors were Kurt Sprague, Logan Sochacki, Drew Pennington, and Aaron McCoy.  The Raiders return to action next Monday at the MCCAA State Championship.

This retreat is for any Faculty or Staff member who HAS PARTICIPATED in a previous Formation Retreat, and would like to revisit the experience.

Participants must commit to all three days of the series.
