Kentwood student musicians selected for Michigan Youth Arts Festival

Three East Kentwood High School music students were recently chosen to perform at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival, to be held May 7-9 at Western Michigan University.

… He (Peter Cripps) plays tuba in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Marching Band at East Kentwood and The Grand Rapids Youth Symphony. Peter’s hobbies are playing and writing music. He will be attending Grand Rapids Community College in the fall to study music.

Lone Skipper represents well at MCCAA Championship

St. Clair County Community College sophomore Matt Fernandez was the lone Skipper out on the course.

… Among the nine full teams that came out, Grand Rapids Community College took the first place prize by beating Oakland Community College by just two strokes.
