GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Actress Elizabeth Wilson’s life and career will be remembered Wednesday with a special screening of the 1967 film “The Graduate” starring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft.
… The 1940 graduate of Grand Rapids Central High School first acted at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, appearing in a production of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” while attending the former Grand Rapids Junior College, now Grand Rapids Community College.

20 semi-finalists announced in SmartArt competition

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Nearly two dozen students from Grand Rapids Public Schools are competing to have their energy-related work displayed during this year’s ArtPrize competition.
… The 20 semi-finalists will now be judge by a panel of art professionals from Kendall College of Art & Design at Ferris State University, Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Valley State University. The top winners will be announced at the start of ArtPrize 2015 on Sept. 23.
