Why you should try Festival of the Arts 2015’s new smartphone apps

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Apps for Festival of the Arts 2015 in Grand Rapids have arrived.

… The app, developed by a team of students at Grand Rapids Community College, led by Andrew Rozema, is a first for Festival of the Arts.

… “I think we will hit the initial goal here, which was to give users a map of where they were so that they would know what the events directly around them looked like and that would take them into the appropriate area of the website,” said Rozema, an assistant professor of computer information systems.

Major donations expand Muskegon Community College downtown space, entrepreneurial program

MUSKEGON, MI — Muskegon Community College’s presence in downtown has just expanded by nearly 24,000 square feet with the announcement of two major gifts to the college’s entrepreneurial studies program.

… (Nick) Sarnicola said when he was a student at Grand Rapids Community College, he had trouble finding a place where he could pursue entrepreneurial studies. With the help of mentors, he said he was able to build his fortune with a company named Visalus, which sells nutritional supplements through independent promoters. Sales in 13 countries have surpassed $1 billion, he said.
