Movie being developed on former Grand Rapids quarterback Casey Therriault

The life of former Wyoming Park quarterback Casey Therriault, with his trials and tribulations from prison to improbable college star, is being developed into a movie.

… Therriault played football at Wyoming Park and Grand Rapids Community College and still lives in Wyoming. He served time in prison following a street fight in Grand Rapids in which in threw one punch and resulted in a death. After he got out, and a stint at GRCC, he joined historically black Jackson State in Mississippi where he thrived. He was later profiled in a segment in ESPN’s “E”60.”

Prepare for manufacturing careers with accelerated program

In 40 hours, you can be ready for entry-level manufacturing work!

Topics for GRCC’s Manufacturing Readiness Program were selected by human resource managers. You’ll learn what you need to succeed and grown in a manufacturing career. Those who successfully complete the program are guaranteed at least two interviews with a West Michigan manufacturer! A high school diploma or GED is required.

Course topics include:

  • communication and teamwork.
  • measurement and manufacturing math.
  • understanding basic quality assurance.
  • basic blueprint reading.
  • workplace skills.
  • interviewing techniques.

Classes are scheduled for:

  • 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13 to 17.
  • 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 3 to 7.
