The Bostwick Ramp employee side will remain closed for cleaning through the end of the day on Monday, July 27th. Employees who normally park in the Bostwick Ramp should access the ramp via the student entrances on the first floor off Fountain Street, or the 6th floor/roof level off Ransom Avenue. Employees should pull a ticket to enter, and then exit on the first floor through the normal employee exit lane.

Michigan Colleges Online’s Repository is an open educational resources (OER) project designed to facilitate sharing of and creation of OERs among our colleges. The Michigan Community College Association’s Steering Committee for this project will assist with selection of the platform for hosting open educational resources; selection of projects at the colleges to be funded; creation of policies/procedures; and training and marketing of the opportunities available at the MCO Repository.
The association would like representation for all MCO member institutions, including faculty, librarians, distance education administrators, chief academic officers and/or staff. There can be multiple people representing an institution as there are opportunities for differing levels of expertise. She had passed her exams, walked in her high school graduation ceremony and received her diploma. But when Miggins enrolled at Grand Rapids Community College, she still struggled with one of life’s most fundamental skills.

Kids in the Manufacturing Camp joined in Wednesday’s ice cream social at Tassell M-TEC. The last ice cream social takes place from 2-3:30 p.m. today on the Sneden back patio.
Asphalt repairs, seal coating, and re-striping will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at M-TEC, and the entire DeVos campus will be re-striped. Please make sure all cars are moved off the parking surfaces. The underside of the parking ramp at Sneden Hall will not be re-striped, parking under the ramp is permitted. The top of the ramp needs to be cleared of all vehicles for striping.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Rodney Vaccaro and nationally-recognized playwright Betsy Howie are in Grand Rapids to participate in Actors’ Theatre’s first script workshop of the new season.
… Vaccaro, who moved to Grand Rapids when he was 12 and is a Western Michigan University graduate, credits Actors’ Theatre as a source of his success as an artist and writer. He will direct the play as local actors including Joyce Bean, Lynne Brown-Tepper, Neil Patrick Trevisan, Ruth Ann Molenaar and Kyle Los join producer Kathy Keehn for the workshop.

Timberwolves semipro football team undefeated

MONROE — Lance Hazlett, a manufacturing scientist by day, sacks quarterbacks on Saturday nights as a defensive tackle for the undefeated Southern Michigan Timberwolves.
… Charles Boyce, a three-time league most valuable player, is the Timberwolves’ offensive triple threat, playing running back, receiver, and returning kicks. Boyce, 26, played at Grand Rapids Community College and still hopes to catch the eye of National Football League scouts.
