Michigan’s BØRNS invites listeners to dream-pop world

With his debut EP “Candy,” psychedelic pop singer BØRNS offered the first taste of his fantastical, dreamy electro pop.

… He sang in his high school choir, gained recognition in talent shows and studied classical piano at Grand Rapids Community College before he left for New York at around age 20 to gain more life experience for his songs.

Restaurant Week serves farm-to-table specials

West Michigan farms are flush with produce right now, and more than 60 local restaurants will take advantage of the bounty to create new menu items for this year’s Restaurant Week.

… With $1 from each Restaurant Week meal consumed going to the Grand Rapids Student Scholarship Fund at Grand Rapids Community College, the event is also a way to support up-and-coming culinary talent in the city.

Suttons Bay grad heads to Grand Rapids CC

SUTTONS BAY — Devin Capron was among the best golfers in the state all season long, winning regular-season jamborees, finishing second at the state tournament and leading Suttons Bay to its fourth state championship.

Now, the Norsemen graduate will begin his collegiate golf career at Grand Rapids Community College, a perennial contender among the nation’s top National Junior College Athletic Association men’s golf teams.
