Tomorrow’s Wolverine Worldwide Sale is a Pre-United Way Campaign event.
Planning is underway for this year’s GRCC United Way campaign. Soon United Way captains will be invited to training, and then we’ll begin to publish a list of events and opportunities to participate in this three-week campaign.
But you don’t have to wait until then to support the organization that invested $1.4 million into education in our community last year.
Today, August 27, all proceeds from the Wolverine World Mega Shoe Sale, will benefit United Way. To learn more, click here.
Good Samaritans help driver on US-131
Aug. 25, 2015; WZZM
WALKER, Mich. (WZZM) — A car fire on US-131 slowed things down Tuesday morning, but thanks to some good Samaritans, no one was hurt.
It was about 7:45 in the morning. Darcy Swope was on her way to work. She says the woman driving ahead of her had sparks coming from her car. “After a few minutes, I realized it was fire dripping from under her car. So I went around her and honked my horn to get her to pull over. And she did.”
(Darcy Swope is in the IT department.)

Any faculty and staff who have been issued the classroom key for the Main & Cook Buildings (GC-1 stamped 1-490) will need to exchange this key as the classrooms are being re-cored. For your convenience, a table will be set up on Thursday at the Open Day Meeting in the Ford Fieldhouse from 7:30 to 10:30 and again from 2:00 to 5:00 for the adjunct meeting. To receive the new key, employees must return the old key, so please bring your GC-1 key with you on Thursday. If you are unable to exchange your key at that time, you can come to campus police anytime after Thursday to pick up your new key.
Both the new and old key will work on the classroom doors until the first of October, at which time the old key will no longer work.
NO SPIN/SCULPT TODAY DUE TO CARPET CLEANING.
If you still want a great workout, we will meet outside of CSC 140 and head outdoors for a workout in Crescent Park and on the stairs.
