GRCC ranked at near bottom of WalletHub community college study

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) – A new, nationwide ranking of community colleges puts Grand Rapids Community College near the bottom of the list, and other West Michigan colleges didn’t do much better. Out of 670 community colleges, Grand Rapids Community College ranks 661.

GVSU volleyball looks to build off Final Four run

With every new season comes new challenges. For the Grand Valley State volleyball team, the first obstacle will be replacing the talent it lost from last year’s exceptional senior class that lead the program to its sixth Final Four appearance.

… A couple others fighting for starting roles are former GVSU club volleyball standout Taylor Shomin and GRCC transfer student Amanda Glaza at the libero position. Freshman middle blocker Staci Brower earned first team all-state honors with Byron Center High School, and could see some early playing time with sophomore Sydney Doby nursing a preseason injury that might keep her sidelined for the first week of the season.

Students receive scholarships at Teachers of Tomorrow luncheon

On Monday, August 24, The Education/Child Development Department had their annual Teachers of Tomorrow (TOT) luncheon in the ATC. This luncheon is a chance to present education students with the scholarships they have won for the upcoming year. These scholarships allow students the opportunity to work less during the school year and provide them with the flexibility to spend more time on class work and volunteering. There was a wonderful turnout.
