WMU, GRCC sign agreement leading to seamless transfers

Holland, Mich. — Administrators at Western Michigan University and Grand Rapids Community College signed an institutional agreement Sept. 2 that will provide GRCC students with a direct path to WMU programs.

Aquinas volleyball picks up first home win of the season

Grand Rapids, MI- The Aquinas College volleyball team claimed its first home victory of the year, defeating visiting IU-South Bend in four sets. The Saints are now 4-2 on the season, and 1-1 at the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center.

… Aquinas was led on offense by the one-two punch of Cammy Means (Kentwood/East Kentwood) and Michaela Ryan (Davidson/Davidson). Means collected 14 kills, while Ryan tallied ten kills with a .450 hitting percentage. Brooke Wieland (Lake Odeass/Lakewood) orchestrated the offense with 38 assists and Katlyn Agren (Cadillac/GRCC) led the team in digs with 14.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Builders and do-it-yourselfers spend a lot of time by themselves, tinkering and toying with the creations.

… Last year’s creative do-it-yourself and tinkering event, organized by The Geek Group, GR Makers and Grand Rapids Community College along with the Grand Rapids Public Museum, drew 5,000 visitors to the museum to see robotics, 3D printing, nuclear fusion and more.

Staff development, exercise science to show movie on September 10

Staff Development and Exercise Science will be showing the movie More than Honey on September 10 at 11:00 am. This movie showcases beekeepers, scientists and others discussing the world’s declining bee population and what it may mean for modern society. This movie will be shown in the ATC Auditorium (ATC 168) and all staff, faculty and students are welcome to attend. This movie runs 1 hour and 35 minutes so feel free to bring your lunch along with you and enjoy this informative documentary.

Deadline for Armen Awards proposals is September 11
