Students serve as Kids Food Basket ambassadors

CD 215 students represented Kids Food Bank on Friday 9/25 & Saturday 9/26 at the Oktoberfest West Michigan event held at the John Ball Zoo. This was the 8th year that students from the fall semester of CD 215 were ambassadors for the KFB organization, an Oktoberfest West Michigan charity partner. CD 215 students speak to families who attend the event about Kids Food Basket, sharing information about children in Kent, Muskegon and Ottawa counties who are food insecure. Children and their families are encouraged to decorate sack supper bags. Thirty percent of the Oktoberfest proceeds are donated to KFB each year. Many of the students in CD 215 will continue to volunteer at Kids Food Basket throughout the rest of the semester. Professor Vilmont would like to thank her students for their participation again this year. She is very proud of their dedication to their community.
