“The Buzz” is a new app created through a partnership with USA Today College and Grand Rapids Community College. Fifty campuses nationwide are adopting the app this semester.
The app consists of three feeds – USA Today, USA Today College, and The Collegiate. The stories run simultaneously side by side, and readers can filter what they want to read through categories like news and sports.
The free app is downloadable through both the Google Play store and the Apple store.
“The Buzz” creates a much easier approach for students to get their news, providing global, national, local, and collegiate news all at one time in an easy-to-read format. Students can view stories anytime and anywhere without relying on a web browser or a newspaper copy.
Faculty and Staff can benefit from “The Buzz” by having the chance to read the stories of professionals at USA Today but also to see their students’ work from The Collegiate as well.
GRCC staff is encouraged to download the app and inform their students about the new media source available to them.
