GRCC Police Academy dedicates memorial for fallen alumni

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) — Grand Rapids Community College’s Police Academy now has a memorial honoring its fallen graduates.

… Y el pasado 2 de noviembre, en el Grand Rapids Community College, el grupo The Latino Student Support Team celebró esta fecha en el College Success Center con altares, Horchata, Tamales y Pan Dulce.

(A common feast among Hispanics of Mexican origin honoring family and friends who have died, so their loved ones come together to create altars in order to celebrate his life .

… And last November 2 in Grand Rapids Community College , the group the Latino Student Support Team celebrated this date in the College Success Center with altars, Horchata , Tamales and Pan Dulce.)

… GRAND RAPIDS COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Selena Golnick (Cadillac) had 16 kills, one assist and 18 digs in a 3-1 win against Muskegon Community College. She also added six kills, two assists, three blocks and seven digs in a 3-0 win over Kellogg Community College.

GRCC volleyball advances to the NJCAA District E tournament

The Grand Rapids Community College Volleyball team concluded their regular season Tuesday night defeating Muskegon Community College’s Jayhawks 3-1 to earn second place in the MCCAA West.

Human resources software upgrade scheduled for today

PeopleSoft Human Resources is being upgraded to version 9.2 this weekend. HR Production will be down for the upgrade process from Friday, November 6th at 5:00 PM. and will be available again by Tuesday, November 10th at 8:00 AM. This will result in the following service interruptions:

  • Viewing your paycheck in the Online Center will be unavailable after 5:00 P.M. on Friday the 6th. Please view your pay information before that time if you need to view it before Tuesday the 10th.
  • Time sheet approvals will be unavailable from 5:00 P.M. Friday the 6th to 8:00 A.M. Tuesday the 10th. Employees may still submit time sheets but email acknowledgment will not occur until Tuesday the 10th.
  • Recruiting functions, including searching for and applying for jobs, will be unavailable from Friday the 6th to Tuesday the 10th.

United Way Campaign Update

Thank you to the 56 donors who have turned in their pledge forms so far – pledges now total $14,808!

A drawing will be held for donors who return their pledges to Cathy Kubiak in HR on or before November 9.  The donors in this drawing will still be eligible for the UW Give to Win sweepstakes and the overall donor drawing at the end of our campaign.
