Kalamazoo Valley moves into District Championship with impressive win over Ancilla, 85-44

Defense and rebounding have been staples for Kalamazoo Valley, the 8th ranked NJCAA Division II team in the country. Thursday in Delta College’s gym it was on full display and the Cougars ran away to an easy 85-44 win.
… The big win moved the Valley record to 29-1 and within reach of one of their season long goals – a trip to Kansas City to play on the National stage. They play old rival Lake Michigan College, an overtime winner, 77-66, over Grand Rapids, at 1:00 pm on Saturday
TCC Baseball rallies late to down Darton State

NJCAA Region 8 No. 1 Tallahassee Community College exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 10-5 win over NJCAA No. 11 Darton (Ga.) State College in Thursday afternoon baseball action.
… Before the teams meet on Saturday, Tallahassee will host Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College at 4 p.m. Friday.

Only one natatorium can host USA Swimmings Olympic Team Trials every four years. Since 2008, that facility has been the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska, and this years Olympic Trials will take place there from June 23 to July 6.
… Other aquatics facilities include the Venema Aquatic Center at Calvin College, which features a 50-meter pool with a moveable bulkhead, 1- and 3-meter diving boards and seating for 500 spectators, as well as the 25-yard pool in the Ford Fieldhouse Natatorium at Grand Rapids Community College.
