GRCC lobbies lawmakers for $4.25M to renovate Ford Fieldhouse

GRAND RAPIDS, MI- Grand Rapids Community College lobbied state lawmakers at a recent legislative lunch for $4.25 million to help address the lack of classroom space and other needs at its Ford Fieldhouse.

Newcomers lead charge in chase for national title

Senior Dominique Walls and junior Miles Robinson were both named to the All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference first team and the league’s All-Newcomer team, as well. It just goes to show what kind of impact these rookies have had on Indiana Tech’s success this season.

… The 5-foot-11 Robinson, who redshirted last season after coming from Grand Rapids Community College, is the team’s leading scorer at 19.9 points per game and averages 5.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists. The 6-5 Walls, in his first year with the program after transferring from Ashford University, leads the team in rebounds (9.1) and blocks (2.4).

“Big Red” game dinner with Chef Angus Campbell

Join Chef Angus as he prepares and illustrates an exceptional game and vintage wine dinner for the benefit of student scholarships to the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education. This “Big Red” gourmet meal will be complemented with a selection of California and French wines. You’ll be seated right at the chef’s working station in the college’s Culinary Kitchen Amphitheater to watch Chef Campbell create your delectable dinner courses. This entertaining evening of food and wine will take place on Wednesday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $175 per person and is limited to 16 guests. Paid reservations are due by March 31.  All proceeds from this dinner will benefit the GRCC Foundation Tasters Guild Student Scholarship Fund.

IIPD Grants: Funding Opportunity

The deadline for the submission of grant applications for the Instructional Improvement & Professional Development (IIPD) Grants program is 4:30 p.m., March 18, 2016. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications electronically. The IIPD application packet and IIPD Guidelines are available in the GRCC Internal Grants area of the Grants Office website at www.grcc.edu/grants.
