United Way looking for volunteers

Join Heart of West Michigan United Way in making Food from the Heart!

39% of families in Kent County can’t afford to meet their basic needs and 1 in 5 children struggle with hunger.

Volunteers will assemble ready-to-prepare meals that will be distributed through Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank to food pantries across the county. In two 1.5 hour shifts, over 300 people will package 60,000 protein-enriched meals for local families.

  • Sign up for one of two shifts: 10-11:30 a.m. or 12-1:30 p.m.
  • Groups are welcome and encouraged, but to allow for volunteers from across the community, we ask that group registrations do not exceed 10 individuals
  • Children 5+ welcome with adult supervision
  • Snacks provided
