Retirement community staff pulls in prestigious culinary chef awards

Winning top honors from an organization of your peers is always welcomed, but when a senior living community culinary staff bests some of the best local restaurants and private clubs in the area, it is exceptionally noteworthy.

… Many of the plants in the garden come from Kent County Technology Center for Kent Intermediate School District, where (Tim) England sits on the advisory board for both the horticulture and culinary programs. He also chairs the culinary and hospitality programs at Grand Rapids Community College.

DeWys Manufacturing Inc. Welcomes a New Addition to the Engineering Team

DeWys Manufacturing Inc., a West Michigan-based metal solutions company, is pleased to announce the promotion of Nate Lillibridge as our new product development engineer. In his new role, Nate will be instrumental in benefiting our customers through redesign for manufacturability and cost reduction, supporting manufacturing through process and product improvements, and reviewing customer prints. Furthermore, he will be developing and creating internal manufacturing print packages for a wide variety of customer products.

Nate has worked with DeWys Mfg. for five years starting with the maintenance department, where he gained experiences in all aspects of the manufacturing process. This career advancement will make Nate the fifth engineer on the DeWys Engineering team, adding to their depth of knowledge and capabilities for our customers. Nate is currently attending Grand Rapids Community College and taking classes towards his Mechanical Design degree, giving him the skills and knowledge necessary to be an asset to DeWys Manufacturing.

… Jeff (Crouch) plans to attend Grand Rapids Community College for a year to complete his general education requirements. He wants to earn his Ph.D. in forensic psychology from either Grand Valley State University or Michigan State University.

Meet the Hawks: Eric Freeman

Meet West Michigan Hawks linebacker Eric Freeman. A 2007 graduate from Wyoming Park High School, Freeman has always stood out on the gridiron. After being named a captain in each of the first three years of high school, he took his senior year off to prepare for college ball. Freeman was a preferred walk-on at Michigan State University under defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi. After careful consideration, Freeman decided to transfer to Grand Rapids Community College to not only be able to play, but also to see if he was mature enough for the college lifestyle.
