Grand Rapids Maker Faire is back for a third year! The third annual Grand Rapids Mini Maker Faire will be held August 20 and 21, at the Grand Rapids Public Museum and Grand Valley State University’s John C. Kennedy Hall of Engineering.

… The Grand Rapids Mini Maker Faire is being organized by the GR Makers, The Geek Group, Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University and the Grand Rapids Public Museum. The third annual Grand Rapids Mini Maker Faire is sponsored by Tekton Tools and Cascade Engineering.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – Whether you’re a foodie or just looking to explore the flavors of Grand Rapids, Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to check out what West Michigan has to offer.

… Restaurants will provide 3-course meals for $28. $1 from Restaurant Week meals sold during this year’s event will be donated to the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education Student Scholarship Fund at the Grand Rapids Community College.

The Challenge Scholars program is expanding. Beginning next fall, any students in ninth grade at Grand Rapids Union High School and a GPA of at least 2.0 is eligible to attend Grand Rapids Community College for up to two years.
