GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Sheldon Korcal, a Grand Rapids Community College student, says hes been hooked on craft beer since downing one of Founder’s Brewing Company’s flagship beers — the Dirty Bastard scotch-style ale.

LANSING, Mich. — World-class athletes weren’t the only ones going for the gold this past month. Sixty-five colleges and universities recently earned bronze-, silver- or gold-level status based on their commitment to providing on-campus, veteran-centric services to student veterans.

Rape survivor preaches compassion, education and ‘everyday activism’

… Tessa Dearth, a 22-year-old student at Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan who attended Wednesday’s screening with her mother, said she reported a male student who was sexually harassing her at school last year before anything got physical.

… Dearth said she felt campus police believed her and responded appropriately to her complaint, but that it was disconcerting how, according to the film, that rarely happens.

Opening Day features presentation by Terrell Strayhorn

This year’s Opening Day featured a presentation by Dr. Terrell Strayhorn, of Ohio State University’s Center for Higher Education Enterprise.

Raider Salute to tutor trainers, Creative Dining

Academic Support & Tutoring Services would like to send out a Raider Salute to Barb Bouthillier, Tamber Bustance, Hilda Martinez-Gutierrez, Erendida Eduvina Erazo Alas, Cedric Ingram and Soyla Lange, Deb Perkins, Toni Garcia, Kelly Kozloski, Grace Blanchard and Eddie Blanchard for presenting at the August Tutor Training, which was held last Monday and Tuesday at the Calkins Science Center.  Additional Raider Salutes go out to Keaton Krupa, Cierra Conley and Iesa Gonzales for catering our event and being so flexible with a last-minute change of schedule.
