OTTUMWA — Who says you can’t go home again? Scott Barnes has not only been returning to his home state of Michigan each fall, he’s brought along his Indian Hills cross-country runners for the trip.
… “We were probably a little too fast, which as a coach you always worry about because you’re worried the guys will hit a wall and start to fade too early in the race,” Barnes said. “The nice thing was that, instead of dying and fading, the guys hung tough and ended up beating (20th-ranked) Muskegon. We also were pretty close to 10th-ranked Grand Rapids Community College.
