New restaurant to open at former Forest Hills Inn spot

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, MI –  Nearly a year after longtime Forest Hills Inn closed, a new restaurant is under construction on the site.

… (Adam) Watts has long been part of the West Michigan restaurant scene, having served as executive chef at numerous restaurants. The Grand Haven native graduated from the Secchia Institute for Culinary Arts at Grand Rapids Community College, and began his restaurant career at the famed Tapawingo Restaurant in Northern Michigan. He has since spent time as a chef in Scotland, California and Colorado. Locally, he helped open Rustica in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids Brewing Company and Slows Bar-BQ in the Downtown Market.

Central, Cyber School graduates celebrate success

Families and friends cheered as pictures of Wednesday night’s graduates played in a slideshow.

… Looking ahead to the fall, 16-year-old Emma Chase said she plans to attend Grand Rapids Community College and later study to be a doctor.
