Much research has been done on the impact of a sense of belonging. Most leaders in business, education, and government would agree that creating a culture in which people feel wanted and included is one of their biggest challenges.

We are pleased to announce that GRCC’s Woodrick Center for Equity and Inclusion and the College Action Project 1.1.3-Inclusion Team are bringing Dr. Jamie Washington to campus on June 22 to talk with faculty and staff about their role in creating a culture of belonging.

Here’s the schedule for his visit:

  • 9-10:30 a.m. — breakfast in ATC rooms 120-122.
  • 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — lunch in ATC room 124.
  • 1:30-3 p.m. — discussion in the Spectrum Theater.

More information and a registration link are available here.

The sessions are designed to invite participants to consider their individual and collective roles for creating a culture of belonging. If you have questions, please let CAP co-chairs Sophia Brewer, sbrewer@grcc.edu, or Tamber Bustance, tbustance@grcc.edu, know.
