All Area Baseball Player of the Year

GREENVILLE — Not since 1993 has a Greenville baseball team reached 20 wins in a season. This year, however, the Yellow Jackets managed to win 22 games, and much of their success was thanks to senior Calvin Syrjala, The Daily News Baseball Player of the Year.

… “Calvin is a great hitter to all fields and an exceptional athlete. He is a great player and has put a lot of time in over the years,” Kohler said. “He has earned the recognition and we look forward to watching him play at Grand Rapids Community College (next fall).”
