Registration is open for all Summer Teaching Institute sessions

The Center for Teaching Excellence and Distance Learning and Instructional Technologies will be holding its 12th Annual Summer Teaching Institute this August! Over the course of three days — August 15, 16, and 17 — we have twelve different sessions available, including evening sessions. You can register for just one session or multiple sessions. All of the sessions will be held on the Main GRCC campus.

Tuesday, August 15
  • Getting Off to a Good Start with Christina McElwee, Deb Vilmont and Bill Faber.
  • Leveraging Blackboard to Maximize your Course with Chad Sytsma and Tony Dykema-VanderArk.

Wednesday, August 16
  • Online Teaching Challenges and Strategies with Garry Brand and Meegan Willi.
  • Adding Images and Video to Your Course Using SnagIt, Relay, and Camtasia with Tony Dykema-VanderArk and Meegan Willi.
  • Honor Projects with Mursalata Muhammad.
Thursday, August 17
  • GRCC’s Latest Tool for Student Engagement: The Lightboard with Klaas Kwant, Garry Brand, Bill Faber and Rafael Pastrano.
  • Learning Through Serving with Melanie Schiele Gady.
  • Managing Hot Moments in the Classroom with Tamber Bustance and Stacey Heisler.
  • Talking to Students about Academic Pathways with Jennifer Batten.
  • Getting Off to a Good Start with Christina McElwee, Deb Vilmont and Bill Faber.
  • Advanced Placement (AP) & GRCC with Mursalata Muhammad.
