The Grand Rapids Public Museum recently partnered with Brewery Vivant and Grand Rapids Community College brewing students for a special Beer Explorers class to learn about the science of tasting. Participants explored their senses in relationship to how they taste beer.
Student Life wants to share some information about last week’s Homecoming events:
On Monday, we served cider and donuts to 243 students for our aMAIZE’n Breakfast at the Science Building. Tuesday’s Raiders with a Heart of Gold had a great attendance: 406 students were served soups and sandwiches by the GRCC volleyball team on 4th floor Main. The students helped us decorate over 200 sacks for Kids’ Food Basket. Wednesday’s Raider Run 5k was a hit with 103 participants — not too bad for our first ever Raider Run! The weather was great and Dr. Pink came to wish the participants good luck! Thursday’s Shiver-me-Timbers Tailgate had over 300 attendees; we roasted marshmallows and chowed down on some pulled pork sandwiches. Everyone headed off to the game to watch the GRCC Women’s Volleyball team win against the Lake Michigan College Redhawks!
On Friday, the winner of the Department Decorating Contest was announced: Congratulations to Student Records! A big thank you to all of the other departments that participated — we hope all the departments had fun spreading that Raider spirit!
The office of Student Life and Conduct, Campus Activities Board, GRCC Athletics and the GRCC Foundation would like to thank the entire campus community for all of their support throughout the week, we look forward to seeing everyone next year!
