Kendra DeJonge named NJCAA All-American

On December 7th, the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Committee released the NJCAA Division II All-American list for 2017. Not surprisingly, MCCAA Freshman of the Year Kendra DeJonge’s name was on the list, being named Second Team All-American. DeJonge, who hails from Rockford, led the Raiders volleyball team to a 27-3 (16-0 MCCAA-West) record and a #3 national ranking.

In addition to being named Second Team All-American, DeJonge earned First Team All-Region, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Western Conference and Western Conference Freshman of the Year. On the season, DeJonge recorded 406 Kills, 320 Digs and 43 Aces. Kendra ranked 33rd in the Nation in kills and 9th in kills per set. DeJonge powered a potent Raiders offense all the way to the Region XII, District F finals where GRCC fell to eventual National Runner-Up, Owens Community College.

Joining Kendra on the All-American Team from the MCCAA Conference was First Team All-American Robbie Berg from Muskegon Community College and Honorable Mention All-American Autumn Anderson from Oakland Community College.
