Active Shooter Response

This training is required for all college staff and faculty. The 90 minute training session will be presented by GRCC Police Chief Rebecca Whitman, and will describe what an active shooter is; detail the ‘Run Hide Fight’ response to an active shooter situation; explain ways to recognize and report potential threats to our campus, and answer any questions attendees may have.

Conflict is present in all aspects of our lives. An individual’s personal professional, and emotional health is greatly affected by how successfully he or she manages conflict. Individuals rely on each other to attain goals and are continually being thrown into situations where they need to handle conflict in a constructive manner – without being taught how to accomplish this. This half-day course will expose individuals to the different ways that people react in conflict situations, show them what their preferred strategy is in situations of conflict, and then help them plan to use a more integrating style of conflict resolution more effectively at work.

Candidate Screening/ Recruitment Solutions Training; 3. Interview Questions, Presentations/Demonstrations; 4. Diversity Considerations and Goals; 5. Effective Evaluation Tools and Consensus Decision-Making; 6. Human Resources Responsibilities. Learning Objectives: Participants will understand their role in the selection of excellent candidates for staff and faculty positions and the hiring objectives and legal parameters for assessing and recommending future staff and faculty members.

ADA for Supervisors

This course will review basics of the Americans with Disabilities Act, including college responsibilities that are relevant to supervisors, how to recognize an accommodations request, and the process GRCC follows. Key objectives to the workshop:- Become more familiar with ADA requirements for the college – Identify accommodations requests- Recognize concerns that need to be elevated to HR- Identify concerns that may arise when dealing with disability as related to job role, performance, etc.

Online Ordering

This course will review the printing online ordering from the login and profile set-up how and when to use the quick copy options, how and when to us the print ordering options along with the differences in the categories of each area, paper selection and order history. You will learn the techniques of looking up your past orders and copying into a new order to streamline ordering repeated items.Want to keep track of your budget, What do I need to know when placing my store orders. Administrative staff can look at reports of each budget your area is responsible for and how a minimum and maximum can be put in place to keep you on track.

Healthy Meals on a Budget

There is a misconception that eating healthy is expensive. It can be, if you are not willing to put in the work ahead of time to prep and plan your meals accordingly. In this workshop, we will give you (2) complete grocery lists that can feed a family of four for under $150.00 a week. We will also strategize ways to price shop and compare that makes the planning process a little less painful. Come, learn and strategize how to adapt this for your family and health goals! Better yet, each participant will leave with a two-week meal plan that focuses on variety, nutrition and flavor.

The Road to 850 is an overview of how to reach your credit score goals. You will learn what makes up a credit score, how inquiries affect your credit score, where to find your credit score and the 10 steps to raising your credit score.
