Lakeshore Advantage Holds Meeting, Gives Honors

HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The annual meeting of Lakeshore Advantage today will look back, look ahead and have some honors included.
Highlighting the session at Hudsonville’s Pinnacle Center is the awarding of the organization’s 2018 Visionary Award which recognizes leaders and the initiatives that they have undertaken to “affect positive economic change now and for the future,” according to a statement. The finalists for this honor are: Brian Walker of Herman Miller, Peter Haines of the OAISD and Dr. Bill Pink of Grand Rapids Community College, who created the Careerline Tech Center Early College Program; Dave Koster and Tim Hemingway of the Holland BPW for the Holland Energy Park that began full-scale operations last fall; and Community Foundation leaders Mike Goorhouse of Holland/Zeeland and Holly Johnson of the Grand Haven Area for the Housing Next affordable housing initiative.
Rees Scholarship Foundation Awards $74,000 to Aspiring HVACR Technicians

The Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), and the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), announced scholarship awards totaling $74,000 to 40 students, including one military veteran program recipient, studying to become technicians in the HVACR and water heating industry.
