And what a fun year it’s been for Grand Rapids Community College! The men’s basketball team knocked off second-ranked Ancilla today in the district final — their second win over Ancilla over three weeks — to advance to the national junior college Division II National Tournament in Danville, Ill. Zach Pangborn was the MVP of the district tournament, and Curtis Davison and Anthony McIntosh were First Team All Tournament. Head coach Luke Bronkema, Ferris coach Andy Bronkema’s brother, was the District 9 Coach of the Year. Congrats to them!

LAKE ODESSA — Another talented Lakewood volleyball player will be playing at the next level. Katelyn Kietzman, a defensive specialist for the Vikings, has signed to play for Grand Rapids Community College coach Chip Will and his Raiders.
