Criminal Justice hosts career and internship fair on March 21

The deadline for the submission of grant applications for the Instructional Improvement & Professional Development (IIPD) Grants program is 4:30 p.m., March 16, 2018. Screening Committee Training

This learning session is designed to brief all screening committee team members regarding their roles and responsibilities in the search process. Topics that will be covered include: A) Overview of Search Process; B) Position Approval Process; C) Recruitment/ SAAR Notebook Review Including: 1. Screening Committee & Leadership Roles; 2. Candidate Screening/ Recruitment Solutions Training; 3. Interview Questions, Presentations/Demonstrations; 4. Diversity Considerations and Goals; 5. Effective Evaluation Tools and Consensus Decision-Making; 6. Human Resources Responsibilities. Learning Objectives: Participants will understand their role in the selection of excellent candidates for staff and faculty positions and the hiring objectives and legal parameters for assessing and recommending future staff and faculty members.

 

Introduction to Windows 10

Windows 10 has arrived at GRCC! This new operating system has replaced Windows 7 and there are some changes we would like to share with you. Come and join us for this basic introduction to Windows 10 and learn how to navigate the changes.

 

Active Shooter Training

Tuesday, March 20, 2018 (6:00 pm-7:30 pm)

This training is required for all college staff and faculty. This 90 minute training session will be presented by GRCC Police Chief Rebecca Whitman, and will describe what an active shooter is; detail the ‘Run Hide Fight’ response to an active shooter situation; explain ways to recognize and report potential threats to our campus, and answer any questions attendees may have.

 

Effective Communication for Leaders

Wednesday, March 21. 2018 (1:00 pm – 4:30 pm)

This half-day program provides the essential skills for communication as a leader. These skills are used in many leadership interactions (such as setting expectations, providing feedback, engaging and motivating employees, coaching employees, delegating work, goal setting, discipline, and other interactions). Participants will learn and practice three core communication skills.

Google Apps & Google Drive

Learn how to access Google Drive for staff. Google Drive is a cloud-based service that offers file storage, document creation, and more. Real-time collaboration with multiple users is possible. The class will provide an overview of how to access your GRCC account, the basics of Google Drive for file management, and an overview of Google online collaboration using various Google Applications.
