Facilitating Difficult Conversations Workshop
Tuesdays, April 17, 2018 and April 24, 2018 (2:00 pm – 4:00 pm)
THIS IS A TWO PART WORKSHOP! PARTICIPANTS MUST COMMIT TO ATTENDING BOTH PARTS. PART 1 will be presented on April 17, 2018 and PART 2 will be presented on April 24, 2018. Facilitation is more than discussion. Genuine facilitation requires listening, understanding and guiding the dialog process. But when you reflect on all of our assumptions, biases, unspoken emotions and behavioral idiosyncrasies, this can seem almost impossible.
Reimbursement Policy Workshop
Thursday, April 19, 2018 (2:00 pm – 3:30 pm)
This learning session will review the current employee reimbursement policy and will touch on topics related to travel reimbursements, mileage reimbursements, GSA Meal Per Diem rates, as well as Faculty Professional Development, and Tuition Benefit reimbursements for courses attended at other colleges or universities.
Aging With Grace Workshop
Friday, April 20, 2018 (9:30 am – 11:30 am)
This course is designed to give participants a holistic view of the development components of aging. This will include information on physiological, neurological, and mental-emotional aspects of the aging process. Geriatric diseases such as arthritis, Alzheimer’s, other forms of dementia, and Parkinson’s will be discussed. Participants will become familiar with resources available in the Grand Rapids community to assist in age related services, as well as provide for forum of discussion about managing their aging, as well as the aging of loved ones. We will discuss various techniques and activities utilized by attendees to reduce the impact of aging.
