GRAND RAPIDS, Wyoming – HME Ahrens-Fox recently announced the addition of Tom Jekel as the Vice President of Operations. Jekel will oversee the day to day operations of all HME Ahrens-Fox firefighting apparatus.
… Jekel, has 20+ years of hands-on manufacturing leadership, where he most recently served as the plant manager at Symbiote in Zeeland, MI. He has his Six Sigma Greenbelt certification, has been an instructor at Grand Rapids Community College for over 20 years, is an EMT, and is Deputy Chief of the Zeeland Township Fire Department. Tom has been married to his wife Barbara for 30 years, and they have 4 kids.

Foods for Healthy Weight Workshop

In this course you will learn about foods that will free you from counting calories and measuring portions… Power up your plate, maintain a healthy weight, and feel great! Class includes cooking demonstration and sampling.

 

Objectives:

– Learn how to identify common foods that lead to weight gain

– Describe elements of meals that lead to satiation to control cravings

– Learn how to identify common foods that are low in calorie density and satisfying

– Describe easy methods of healthy food preparation
