TRIO/SSS has partnered with Michigan Technical University (MTU), for the 14th year in a row, to provide GRCC students a first-hand research experience. Karl Jovinge, Breianna Bertossi, Alannah Elliott, Benjamin Craig, Anthoni Phonxana, Breana Gallarzo, Joseph Day, and Nick Lopez are participating in the 7-week intensive learning opportunity. They will be paired with faculty and assist with current research that ranges from engineering to human resources.
They will experience life at a four-year institution by living on campus, attending a seminar course, and working alongside research faculty. For most students, this opportunity would not be possible without the financial support they also receive. MTU gives each student a $2,500 stipend for their participation. The financial support means students can focus on their learning and clarifying what their academic goals will be moving forward.
They will present their research to fellow classmates, faculty, and staff on June 22nd at MTU. To learn more about this partnership program, please contact TRIO/SSS at 616-234-4150.
