Grand Rapids Community College’s (GRCC) annual Student Leadership Conference is open for all GRCC students who want to gain experience and knowledge in leadership as it pertains to personal and professional goals. Last year, we had about 100 students attend and this year we are hoping/expecting a bigger turnout! The theme of this year’s Student Leadership Conference is titled “Adventure Awaits” to let students know the importance of making the most of their collegiate experience and allowing exploration to be part of everyone’s journey.
The following topics are suggestions you can choose to present on:
- Inclusion & equity
- Marketing (marketing your program or organization)
- Mindset
- True colors/personality tests
- Setting Expectations
- Passing the torch
- Mentoring/Getting a mentor
- Networking
- Public Speaking
- Budgeting
- Goal setting
- Time management
- Stress Management
- Conflict Resolution
Student Affairs professionals are encouraged to submit a proposal for presentation. Conference will take place on Sept. 14th from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM. Sessions will take place at the Applied Technology Center of GRCC. If you want to present, but don’t know on what to present on, contact Thalia for ideas and suggestions!
