75+ restaurants taking part in Restaurant Week GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — More than 75 restaurants are taking part in Restaurant Week Grand Rapids this year.
… Restaurant Week also helps support students at the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education. One dollar of every meal sold during Restaurant Week will be donated to the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education’s Student Scholarship Fund at Grand Rapids Community College.

… A retiree from Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), (Pamela) DeGryse was on the Michigan Education Association Board of Directors for nine years, GRCC Strategic Planning for 11 years and the Drain Commission for Marne, Michigan for three years and was Walker’s Assistant City Treasurer for two years.

Get involved with Involvement Day

Campus Activities Board would like to invite all GRCC student organizations and departments are invited to participate in Fall Welcome Week as part of Involvement Day. Departments and student organizations are encouraged to sign up and get a table for the event. Involvement Day will be held on Tuesday, September 4th, from 1-3 p.m. on the Bostwick Commons.

Security Awareness Newsletter

Every month the Information Security Team will be releasing a newsletter containing information for GRCC students, staff, and faculty regarding Information Security Awareness. Content may include: updates in data security on campus, best practices for keeping information secure, and other important topics on information security.

Weight Watchers at Work – Fall Series!

GRCC would like to continue offering Weight Watchers at Work, and we are looking for 15 or more employees to join in our success in order to continue the program. Our current members have collectively lost over 500 pounds since January!

Enjoy a 15% discount if you register by August 9th! Cost for the program is $132.60 for 12 weeks of on-campus meetings (on Thursdays) beginning September 6th and online e-tool access. After August 9th, the cost for the program will be $156. Did you also know that if you take advantage of the Flex Spending Account, the cost of the program could be covered with a medical necessity doctor’s note?
