Recap: First Raider Nation Day helps incoming students prepare for success

New Grand Rapids Community College students from Grand Rapids Public Schools and East Kentwood High School came to GRCC yesterday to learn how they can connect with campus resources and successfully launch their college experiences during our first Raider Nation Day.

Throughout both morning and evening sessions, students who are enrolled for GRCC’s fall semester and their parents participated in workshops to help them transition from high school to college.

A huge ‘thank you’ to all of the people who made this possible – great job representing GRCC and helping our incoming students prepare for success!

Lane Closure Notice for Fulton Street East beginning August 13

Starting Monday, August 13, Fulton Street East will be under construction from Division Avenue to La Grave Avenue. The eastbound and westbound inside lanes will be closed, while the outside curb lanes are scheduled to remain open.  The closing, which is connected to median island construction, is scheduled to run through Wednesday, August 22.

Reminder: GRCC Library Liaisons are here to help faculty with copyright

Faculty: contact your assigned library liaison for assistance with questions about using copyrighted materials in Blackboard, class handouts, or in course packs. There are legal ways to avoid having to create expensive-to-print course packs.

Acquaint yourself with the newest version of our Copyright Clearance Center‘s annual academic license – rebranded as RightFind! Connect on-campus via your IP-connected computer; off-campus users can create a login with your GRCC email address and any password you will remember. It’s now easier than ever to print out the CCC compliance information for your Blackboard Permissions folder or for GRCC ePrint use.

Librarians are happy to help: verify citations; determine a copyright owner; set up a Course Reserve; and permalink licensed library resources into Blackboard. Please take a look at the Copyright Subject Guide.
