Autumn Severn and the Grand Rapids Community College volleyball team won the Michigan Community College Athletic Association championship for the sixth time in nine years Saturday, beating Oakland and Muskegon for the title.
Conference will focus on survivors of suicide

A National Survivors of Suicide Day conference will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Grand Rapids Community College Tech Center, 151 Fountain St. NE in Grand Rapids.
On Saturday, November 3, Michigan St NE will be under construction from Bostick Ave to Lafayette Ave. The eastbound lanes will be closed with traffic shifted into the center turn lane for the day. The closing, which is related to utility work on the south side of the roadway, is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Saturday.

On October 17, the annual Teachers of Tomorrow Scholarship Dinner was held to honor 43 scholarship recipients who are pursuing careers in the field of Education. This year’s scholarship recipients are:
Sommer Jabbar, a former GRCC student, came to speak about her experiences in the program and working to succeed in the field today. We were also honored to have Dr. Pink and Provost Chesley in attendance to see the students honored. Thank you to all who helped make this event a success!
